The field of Animal Science has been expanded from major livestock, such as cattle, pig, and chicken etc., to wild fur and feather, fishes, experimental animals, and pet. Likewise, field of Animal Science has been expanded to using every animal available for resource objects, and has changed from traditional primary industry to general industry which includes manufacture and distribution. As the field of Animal Science is working on the increase of productivity and the creation of new functional organisms owing to the facility automation and genetic technologies, animal science-related industries and study areas are getting expanded and professionalized every day. The goals of majoring in Animal Science are to work on as a vanguard of the animal industry-related studies and industries' development by totally accepting these changes of time, and furthermore, to cultivate men of ability who is required at Animal Science industry.
The curriculum in the Animal Science is the designed to prepare students for a variety of rewarding careers in the dynamic disciplines od animal science and biotechnology. Teaching and research facilities are available for hands-on practical laboratory experiences, along with faculty mentored research projects.
Graduates from the department of animal science imay seek careers in animal production and management; in state or federal government agricultural agencies; and in fields that support or interact with animal agriculture, such as corporate agribusiness, wholesale and retail marketing and sales, commodity trading, animal product processing, agricultural cooperatives, and producer/commodity associations. This department may also prepare students for advanced in areas such as animal research in genetics, reproductive biology, nutrition, processing and management.
